An Giang students eagerly compete in the 28th outstanding student competition in solving mathematics on handheld calculators
On April 5, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang Province, in collaboration with Binh Tay Import-Export Joint Stock Company (BITEX Company), organized the provincial-level outstanding student competition in solving mathematics on handheld calculators for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is the 28th time the competition has been held province-wide.

This year's competition in An Giang province attracted more than 400 participating students. These are the students who passed rigorous selection rounds from school and district levels to win a ticket to the provincial competition. Similar to previous competitions, the provincial round recorded students competing in 5 subjects, including: Middle School Mathematics, and High School Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. It is expected that the organizing committee will present more than 100 awards to high-achieving contestants in the first, second, and third places.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Tuan Khanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang Province, said that the competition is highly applicable to practical learning and exams, especially the high school graduation exam. When students are proficient in using handheld calculators, they can complete their tests faster and solve most types of exam questions, especially multiple-choice formats with short-answer questions.

During 31 years of accompanying the competition, BITEX has realized that this playground creates conditions for students to access modern learning methods and apply technology to solve practical problems. Clearly, integrating technology into education is not merely a trend, but also an essential need for students to develop comprehensively and be ready to adapt to the changes of the digital world, especially in today's rapidly evolving AI era.

It is known that the outstanding student competition in solving mathematics on handheld calculators was first held in 1995 in Ho Chi Minh City and was subsequently implemented nationwide. In 2024, the Vietnam Record Association and the Vietnam Records Organization officially recognized the record for the "Longest-running Annual Outstanding Student Competition in Solving Mathematics on Handheld Calculators" for Ho Chi Minh City.
