Nearly 600 Tra Vinh students participate in the handheld calculator math competition for the 2024–2025 academic year
On the morning of April 8/4/2025, at the Continuing Education Center of Tra Vinh Province, the excellent student competition in solving mathematics on handheld calculators for middle and high school students for the 2024–2025 academic year took place. The event attracted nearly 600 outstanding students from schools across Tra Vinh Province to compete.

The competition was co-organized by the Department of Education & Training of Tra Vinh Province and Binh Tay Import-Export Joint Stock Company (BITEX) – the exclusive distributor of Casio calculators and Pilot Japanese Pens in Vietnam – aiming to create an intellectual playground, promoting logical thinking and the ability to apply technology in learning for students.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan – Deputy Director of the Department of Education & Training of Tra Vinh Province, Mrs. Tran Thanh Thao – General Director of BITEX Company, along with representatives of local education offices, teachers, and a large number of students from schools in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan highly appreciated the significance of the competition: “The close cooperation between the Department and BITEX Company has created an extremely useful intellectual playground for students. This is not only an opportunity for them to demonstrate their abilities but also helps spread the love for Mathematics and the application of technology in problem-solving.”

Representing the co-organizing partner, Mrs. Tran Thanh Thao shared: “In 2024, the competition was honored to be recognized by the Vietnam Association of Record Holders and the Vietnam Records Organization as: ‘The longest-running annual excellent student competition in solving mathematics on handheld calculators’. This is a great source of pride for Bitex and a testament to the enduring companionship of the Departments of Education, teachers, and students nationwide – especially Tra Vinh Province, one of the pioneering localities that has been closely attached to the competition since 2008.”

The competition not only contributes to inspiring students' passion for learning but also creates opportunities for them to gain experience and develop practical math-solving skills through modern handheld calculator tools – typically the Casio fx-880BTG – a product specifically designed for Vietnamese students and officially used in excellent student exams across the country.
With careful and serious preparation along with an exciting competitive spirit, this year's exam continues to affirm the role of innovative education and technology application in teaching and learning, while marking another proud milestone in the development of the handheld calculator math competition in Vietnam.
