Bitex Company celebrates its 40th anniversary, receives the Second-Class Labor Order

On September 23/9/2022, Binh Tay Import Export Joint Stock Company – Bitex Company solemnly held its 40th Anniversary Celebration (1982 – 2022) and received the Second-Class Labor Order awarded by the State President.

Binh Tay Import Export Joint Stock Company – Bitex Company was established in 1982 under the name District 6 Import Export Company (Siximex), with the mission of organizing the production of industrial and handicraft goods, purchasing, and processing local agricultural, forestry, and fishery products for export supply to central and city enterprises.

After a decade of operating under the subsidized mechanism, Bitex achieved many significant achievements in production and business activities. By 1989, the City People's Committee decided to rename the company to Binh Tay Import-Export Production and Business Union – Bitex. Accordingly, Bitex was one of the few enterprises permitted to export directly and cooperate in investment and joint ventures with foreign enterprises.

In 1992, Bitex changed its name to Binh Tay Import Export Company. With effective business operations, in 1994, Bitex was honored to be selected as one of the few companies transitioning from a state-owned enterprise to a Party economic enterprise. In its role as a Party economic enterprise, Bitex excellently completed its tasks and was always among the top 3 enterprises contributing the most to the budget of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

To create initiative in business and enhance the responsibility of leaders and employees towards the enterprise, by 2002, Bitex equitized and changed its name to Binh Tay Import Export Joint Stock Company.

Notably, during its development journey, Bitex Company asserted its brand and strong influence starting in 1993 when it became the exclusive distributor of Casio calculators in Vietnam. At a time when the country was in the renovation period, Bitex imported the first scientific product into the country, contributing to marking a change in calculation methods – especially in schools.

In addition to trading and distributing key products such as Casio calculators, student supplies, Horse stationery, APP paper, Great Dictionary, and Casio projectors, in 2003, Bitex expanded its business activities into construction and leasing of warehouses, factories, and offices.

With continuous efforts and contributions to the country's economy and society, Bitex Company was honored to receive the Second-Class Labor Order, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bitex Group – Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung, was honored to receive the Third-Class Labor Order, awarded by the State President.

Along with the achievements, Bitex also focuses on corporate social responsibility activities by collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Training to implement the program “Accompanying orphans through the pandemic” with a budget of over 15 billion VND, sponsoring 1,000 scholarships for the “Support to School” program, and supporting difficult teachers with more than 1 billion VND in the “Accompanying rural teachers” program…

Throughout its 40-year journey of establishment and development, Bitex has always received deep attention from Ministries, Departments, Sectors, partners, and customers, especially the support of the Ministry of Education and local Departments of Education, helping the Company step firmly day by day. Besides, it is impossible not to mention the tireless efforts of all BITEX employees, who are enthusiastic, dynamic, creative, and brave, constantly contributing to the general development of the Company.
