BITEX WELCOMES NEW GENERAL DIRECTOR: MS. TRAN THANH THAO

On October 15, 2024, the Board of Directors (BOD) of Binh Tay Import Export Joint Stock Company (BITEX Company) officially appointed Ms. Tran Thanh Thao as General Director, to run the operations of BITEX Company.

On the morning of October 15, 2024, BITEX Company solemnly held an appointment and welcoming ceremony for the new General Director - Ms. Tran Thanh Thao. Ms. Thao is responsible for fully performing duties according to her assigned functions, tasks, and authority, and reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BITEX Company.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of BITEX Company said: “The decision to appoint Ms. Tran Thanh Thao to the position of General Director was approved by the Board of Directors with high consensus. We see in Ms. Thao not only deep knowledge in management but also a spirit of creativity, innovation, and a strong commitment to the core values of the company. The Board of Directors expects that under her leadership, BITEX will enter a phase of strong development, further consolidating trust with partners and distributors, and expanding its market position. We believe that Ms. Thao will successfully perform the duties entrusted by the company and bring breakthrough changes in the future.”

Also at the event, Ms. Tran Thanh Thao, the new General Director of BITEX Company, shared: “Being appointed to the position of General Director of BITEX Company is a great honor for me. At BITEX, I always cherish the values that the company has built over the past 42 years, from investing in people, creating a sustainable working environment, to continuous efforts to support the country’s education. BITEX is not only a business enterprise but also a responsible member of the community. In my new position, I commit to continuing to inherit those fine values, while promoting creativity and improvement in every field of activity, to bring steady progress and breakthroughs for BITEX in the coming time.”

With over 20 years of leadership experience at various multinational corporations, Ms. Thao brings a broad knowledge base and high expertise in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, and Corporate Governance. 

Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Marshall University, USA, Ms. Thao has had an impressive career journey. She has held key roles at multinational corporations such as Champion Industries, Sogefi Group, Intel, Nokia, Microsoft, and Prudential, managing operations in the US, UK, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Vietnam. In addition, with a passion for finance, she recently completed a course on Sustainable Investing at Harvard University. Ms. Thao hopes to apply business investment associated with sustainable development, spreading positive values to the community according to ESG (Environmental - Social - Governance) criteria. 

It is known that Ms. Thanh Thao was a Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of BITEX Company for 8 years, from 2014 to 2022.  During her 8-year tenure, she brought many innovative achievements in business development. In particular, she successfully developed the BITEX Stationery and Smartkids Learning Tools categories, creating a positive mark on the stationery market in Vietnam. At the same time, she was also recognized as a talented and inspiring female leader in her work, building a professional and creative team of managers and employees.
